Yawning Lion

The number of tasks to do during the Christmas holidays is endless and even superwoman would get worn out.

The load can seem lighter if you have some tried and true recipes for Christmas at your fingertips. Recipes that are easy to make and sure to delight the taste buds of any food critic.

Christmas Menu

candy

I think everybody would agree that one of the best parts of Christmas is the awesome food.

From mouth-watering dinners to taste bud-pleasing desserts, Christmas has it all. There are yummies to please any tummy.

My Absolute Favorite

chocolate

What is your favorite type of Christmas food?

I have a huge sweet tooth and my mother has always joked that my first word as a baby was "chocolate." So it should be no surprise to anyone that I love the boxes of chocolates, the candy and the homemade goods that come with Christmas.

There is nothing like gazing upon the Christmas tree while eating a cookie that was made with love. Or sitting down to relax with a warm cup of tea (or hot chocolate in my case) and a yummy baked good. Nothing can beat sweets!

Christmas cookies

There are hundreds of Christmas baking recipes in existence and I haven't come close to trying even three quarters of them.

I am admittedly a picky eater and I tend to stay with recipes that I know I like. But I am open to trying new things and I love finding new recipes for Christmas to try.

Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner place setting

Maybe you don't have a sweet tooth like me and your favorite part of Christmas food is the Christmas dinner.

I can completely understand that because Christmas dinner doesn't only taste good, it also seems to hold the spirit of Christmas.

Dirty Dishes

While I love Christmas dinner too I am not fond of the dishes that need to be washed after the meal is over. Do you feel the same way?

Christmas dinner tends to be an elaborate meal but just because it includes many different foods doesn't mean it has to be difficult to make.

There are easy dinner recipes for the non-chef types out there (that would be me!) that guarantee a top-notch meal.

Calories

Exercise

Yes, all the goodies you eat at Christmas time can cause you to gain some weight. You know what they say, "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips."

But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the savory treats surrounding you this holiday season.

  • Everything is good in moderation.
  • Don't gorge yourself on the high calorie yummies, just eat enough to delight your sweet tooth and then walk away.
  • And when the New Year comes around you can ring it in with an exercise plan to shed those extra pounds gained during Christmas.

Rest assured, you won't be the only one trying to shed some pounds either.

Food, food, and more food,

all around at Christmas time.

Food, food, and more food,

all consumed at Christmas time.
